GETTING AROUND VALENCIA
Valencia is a very easy city to explore in a sustainable and comfortable way. Thanks to its good weather, medium size and large network of bike lanes and public transport, it is easy to move around on foot, by bicycle or by public transport while enjoying the city like a local.
Moving around in a responsible way also helps you discover Valencia at a slower and more authentic pace, enjoying its neighbourhoods, markets, parks and daily life.
Valencia is a city made for walking and cycling. Many of the main attractions are connected by pedestrian streets, promenades and bike lanes.
The old Turia riverbed, now transformed into the Jardín del Turia, crosses the city from west to east and works as a large green route through Valencia. Besides being one of the biggest urban parks in Europe, it connects many of the city’s most important places and is perfect for walking, cycling, doing sports or simply relaxing.

Getting Around by Bicycle
Valencia is considered one of the best cities in the world for cycling thanks to its large network of bike lanes and its commitment to sustainable mobility.
If you decide to move around the city by bicycle, please remember:
- Use bike lanes whenever possible.
- If there is no bike lane, bicycles must use the road. Riding on pavements or pedestrian areas is not allowed. In these areas, bicycles must be pushed by hand.
- Always respect traffic lights and road signs, and give priority to pedestrians. Helmets are mandatory for children under 16 years old.
Cycling in a respectful and responsible way helps keep Valencia safe and enjoyable for everyone.
